![]() Your connection on the MacBook Pro side sounds correct. My difficulty is figuring out where to plug the red and white plugs into the receiver, also a Sony. And i have an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack on the side of my lap top. There seem to be many receptacles for the red and white plugs. I know I have to use the 3.5mm out jack from my Macbook, but would it connect to an RCA input or something else? Any help would be appreciated. The thing that confuses me on that front is what kind of cable I'd be looking for to connect to audio. It would be preferable to have an adapter that just combines the audio and video into one input on my TV, but I'd be open to suggestions that just involve a video out and a separate audio out. This would work perfectly for me, but I'm curious if anyone knows of any cheaper options. I found this adapter that brings the audio and video connections to one HDMI cable, but it's over $40, not including the cost of an HDMI cable. Therefore, I need two cables to get a full audio/video connection to my TV. Because it's one of the older models, the Mini Displayport does not support audio out. ![]() I have a mid 2009 15-inch (unibody) Macbook Pro. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but I'm too lazy to search.
