Stop Press: yesterday’s () very large Windows Update seems to have “re-set” everything: I can now use Acronis TI non-stop backup without any BSODs and I can still use Outlook 2013 with the iCloud add-in. I am able to re-create both problems by turning on non-stop backup in Acronis TI. Disabling non-stop backups stopped the BSODs, and then, co-incidentally, I became aware of a secondary result: The iCloud add-in for Outlook now loads when Outlook is opened and syncing works just fine. 2011 is the “latest” version, which I have). If the unhealthy COM add-in is in Always Enabled List, it allows you to choose from one of the following options. What triggered the right “conditions” in my system, I do not know (perhaps one of the previous Windows updates(?) The recommended action was to obtain the latest version of afcdp.sys (there isn’t one. In the case where the unhealthy COM add-in is automatically disabled by Outlook or disabled by you, the dialog box will give you an option to check 'Always enable this add-in'. After extensive searches online, I noted several reports that this particular file has a reputation for causing BSODs under certain conditions. How did I find this? Without any warning, I suddenly started experiencing BSODs with dump files identifying afcdp.sys as the culprit. I seem to have located the “issue”: disabling non-stop backup in Acronis True Image 2014 “fixed” the problem.
